Cancer is a disease that has become very prominent nowadays and the treatment of this disease is very costly and has a lot of side effects. It is one of the fatal and fast spreading disease in a human body. So we all should also know about what is cancer and how it is caused.

Like we have our life time and once our lifetime is over, we die, our human body cells also have their lifetime and they die after that and then new cells develop through cell division. But, sometimes this cell division and the process of developing new cells does not stop. As a result of which these cells become cancerous cells and a tumor develops into that area of uncontrolled cell division.  But, cancers of blood do not form any tumors. There are various type of cancers, these cancers are named according to their organs and according to their symptoms. One such cancer is mesothelioma.

Types of cancer

There are basically two types of cancer

  • Benign
  • Malignant
What is cancer?

Benign tumors do not enter the bloodstream and usually, do not spread to other parts of the body. These tumors may be large in size but, can easily be removed by surgery without causing any harm to other body parts.

Malignant tumor cells can invade and spread into the blood stream. These cells can damage other tissues and also while forming tumor can separate from the tumor and travel to distant organs and start division over their and start the abnormal cell division. These cells get their nutrition by attaching to the nearby blood vessels.

Cancer cells can influence the normal cells surrounding a cancer tumor to provide blood flow and oxygen to the tumor and remove waste from the tumor. These cells can also influence the immune system to not kill cancer cells.

How is cancer caused?

Cancer is mainly a genetic disease. The changes in the genes that cause cell division mainly causes cancer. Cancer can also be inherited from our parents, due to the genetic mutation that passes from parents to children.

Genetic changes

Genetic changes can also occur in a cells DNA during a persons lifetime and it can also cause cancer, without being inherited from parents.

Exposure to environmental pollutants

Exposure to environmental pollutants like tobacco in smoke or ultraviolet rays from the sun can cause cancer. Due to the increasing pollution in the world, there is global warming, due to which there is a depletion of the ozone layer of the earth. As a result of which the ultraviolet rays of the sun reach the earth. As a result of which there are increased of cases of cancer.

Treatment of cancer

Cancer treatment involves a variety of treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, etc. but, most of these therapies are very costly and are very harmful to the patients.
